"Stephanie is a caring and dedicated community member actively working towards reconciliation in her personal and professional life.
I like that about Stephanie -- how she does the work, how she includes others in the work, and how she goes about her work in a respectful, practical manner. Stephanie has earned my endorsement, and I know that she will serve the community well as a city councillor."
"Stephanie and her family literally welcomed my mother, my brother and I with open arms into their home when we arrived from Syria on New Year’s Day, 2016.
Stephanie built meaningful relationship with us despite cultural and language barriers — trusting in what we had in common, and building on shared passions for food, dance, and community.
She is family to us."
"Stephanie is a fierce competitor and a dedicated team member. She is someone you want in your corner; I am firmly in hers.
I urge you to elect Stephanie to city council."
"Stephanie is hardworking, caring and community minded, and will serve the residents of Kitchener with distinction as a member of council."
"Steph is feisty in all the right ways. She will speak her mind, stand up for issues and people, and lead with authenticity — even when times are tough."
"I have known Steph for over ten years, and in that time have worked with her in a variety of contexts. For reference, I am a university Professor who writes between 20 and 50 reference letters per year, but rarely do I have the privilege of writing for someone I know as well or could recommend as highly as Steph Stretch. She understands the concept of “community” in a way that has deep integrity. She offers wisdom – and yes, I am using that about a woman twenty-five years younger than me – in ways that are unassuming and supportive. Her genuine care for people has enabled her to construct healthy community relationships. It is a trait in her that I admire, even marvel at.
Stephanie has very gracious conflict management skills, she is outstanding at building teams and community, she has expertly supervised staff to be their best and meet objectives, and she leads by a generous and open example."
